As a representative of Acquity Group, I was a recent exhibitor at the Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition (IRCE) in San Diego, June 14-17. Labeled, “The World’s Largest eCommerce Event,” this event, now in its seventh year, features 500 exhibiting companies and 175 expert speakers, in what some call, the largest display of state-of-the-art e-commerce technologies ever assembled.
There was definitely a lot going on for anyone within the industry with growth and partnership needs to socialize/network. The attendee audience skews towards the smaller retailer shop, but on occasion we find Fortune 500 representatives strolling the aisles looking to address a specific need or to meet up with partners within their ecosystem. As a digital agency and consulting firm steeped in web based technology platforms, I see this as a valuable network conference to connect with partners in a relaxed and social setting.
A word to the wise…bring the tchotchke reinforcements as there is a lot of traffic from all walks of life looking to fill their bags with trinkets and giveaways.
