The notion of big-picture UX integrating with Agile software development has existed for around a decade. Designers have been exploring ways to integrate into the Agile framework since its mainstream inception in the early 2000s and have generally achieved success on a smaller scale with lean startups and agencies. However, the application of Agile to a robust experience design studio operating within a larger consultancy is still relatively new and controversial. This article will explore a series of lean, bottom-up techniques that are initiated from a holistic design team, and how they prepare a large organization for a more seamless and successful agile transformation.
